Shanker at a recent customer meeting

Dear Customer,

I am privileged and honoured to be back with all of you in the healthcare market of South Asia. Over the last 18 months, I have had the opportunity to lead GE’s Asia CT Business and Quality Function. I hope to translate some of my learning into my new role.

GE Medical Systems had a great year in 2001 and with your support, continues to be the leading healthcare solutions provider for the third consecutive year in South Asia.
On behalf of our employees and valued customers, I thank Mr. D A Prasanna for building a strong, profitable and customer focused company.

The future of medical imaging and healthcare delivery will be driven by great technological innovations. GE Medical Systems is leading from the front to address this challenging opportunity.

We dedicate this issue of IMAGES to some of the breathtaking innovations from
GE Medical Systems:

• World’s first real-time 4D Ultrasound System that will revolutionize ultrasound imaging

• The latest breakthrough in MRI - GE EXCITETM that will expand MR imaging to a true four-dimensional tool

• InnovaTM 2000 - the first and only flat panel digital cathlab - great image quality with reduced radiation dose

• LightSpeed Ultra16: With sub-millimeter slices and routine 16-slice coverage,
GE LightSpeed16 delivers a whole new world of clinical value

We are committed to sharing the benefits and best practices of our quality initiative -
Six Sigma - with our customers. We are happy to inform you that we have completed over 300 Six Sigma projects with our customers last year across South Asia. We will continue to invest time and resources to attain our goal of making our customers more productive and successful in the years to come.

I hope to meet all of you personally in the near future and work with you in achieving the above goal.

Yours sincerely,

Shanker Annaswamy
